Insectary Production Assistant

Sunday – Thursday | 5:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

$16 / Hour –  Full-Time | Fort Worth, TX
with Supplemental Bonus Pay

Avoid the traffic rush and get an early start to your evenings with a work schedule of 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday to Thursday, Sunday hours are flexible.

The Insectary Production Assistant will work with the team to produce AgBiTech’s biological insecticides. This job will involve working with moths and caterpillars and on a custom-designed production line.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with several different aspects of the production process involved in product development
  • Help to maintain our large colonies of moths and caterpillars
  • Accurately record all quality control measurements
  • Help to maintain a clean work environment
  • Monitor and adhere to all relevant workplace health and safety requirements
  • Develop and maintain strong collaborations with AgBiTech colleagues

Plant and Equipment Maintenance Technician

Monday – Friday | 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

$24 / Hour –  Full-Time | Fort Worth, TX

We are looking for a Plant and Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our growing team!

As Plant and Equipment Maintenance Technician you will assist with maintaining specialized equipment used in a complex manufacturing process as well as assist with facility maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of specialized and automated production/manufacturing equipment
  • Troubleshooting of specialized equipment under the direction of the Director of Manufacturing and Production Innovation as well as other specialized trades.
  • Carry out scheduled and reactive maintenance

A Successful Candidate will Possess

  • Adhere to safe work practices by taking personal responsibility to prevent injury or illness from exposure to hazards
  • Familiar with general production related equipment (compressors, boilers, HVAC systems, motors, gearboxes, plumbing, pneumatics, pumps, conveyors, sensing equipment, etc)
  • Install, repair, overhaul, modify and maintain electrical and mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery
  • Familiar with general workshop tools and equipment (powered/unpowered)
  • Fabrication experience (sheet metal, welding)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and relay logic
  • Ability to work as a team to achieve solutions, works well in a team environment
  • Capable of completing tasks as instructed without immediate supervision and following up with supervisor as required/necessary
  • Functional and practical understanding of plant maintenance requirements
  • Attention to detail - work accurately, carefully, precisely and efficiently
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions
  • Organized, accountable and self motivated
  • Ability to see what work needs to be done and either doing it or advising others
  • Desire to improve the systems and efficiency of the operation
  • PLC and electrical experience preferred
  • Forklift licence is helpful
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Assist with several different aspects of the production process involved in product development
  • Work regularly for extended periods of time in a freezer (all necessary PPE provided)
  • Work with different types of machines required for product development
  • Accurately record all quality control measurements
  • Maintain a clean work environment
  • Monitor and adhere to relevant workplace health and safety requirements

As Agricultural Formulation Scientist, you will lead R&D activities focused on developing improved formulations for our baculovirus products and oversee the implementation of new formulation processes in our manufacturing system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the R&D activities to develop improved and innovative formulations of our baculovirus products by working collaboratively with internal resources and external experts and/or companies
  • Design and oversee the execution of all formulation characterization experiments to evaluate and qualify final formulations to enter registration pathway
  • Analyze trial data, and provide detailed written and oral reports and recommendations to internal R&D team and business management team
  • Play an essential role in scaling up new and improved formulation processes and effectively integrating these new processes within our baculovirus manufacturing system
  • Facilitate the registration of alternative baculovirus formulations
  • Play an important role in building AgBiTech’s leadership position in baculoviruses, and establishing high standards for this product catergory

A successful candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Ph.D. in chemistry or related field plus at least 5 years of additional agricultural formulation research experience, or MSc in chemistry or related field plus at least 8 years of additional agricultural formulation research experience
  • The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with agricultural formulations, preferably biological insecticides
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
  • Strong program management skills and experience coordinating R&D engagements with external collaborators
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Critical thinker with ability to troubleshoot and work independently
